I read this book prior to watching the film, starring James Franco and Jonah Hill, and they were both incredible. The book was beyond chilling, because I got to read the words right from Michael Finkel, who’s also an incredible writer.

The story itself is one that is truly fascinating and takes your emotions on a rollercoaster, especially because it actually happened! What I found particularly interesting however, is the dynamic of the relationship between Finkel and Christian Longo. For fellow true crime aficionados, I recommend digging into this story after you read the book if you’re not familiar with it. I went deep into the Internet abyss of research after reading this book, because the various aspects of this case continued to fascinate me.

I really recommend watching the film (after reading the book), as James Franco makes a perfectly creepy Longo.

My rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
